IMPORTANT INFO - COVID AND PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS
The Parish Council are holding their Annual Parish Meeting and Annual Meeting of the Parish Council from 7pm at Stanton Under Bardon Village Hall on Monday 17th May, 2021.
Due to changes in legislation for holding meetings, the council can no longer meet online but the two above meetings must be held before the 31st May, 2021. With the rule of 6 coming in to play on 17th May, the limit on numbers allowed inside at one time and the fact that parish councils cannot legally prevent the public from attending, we are having to do things a little differently to ensure we remain within the law.
We cannot prevent anyone attending but we strongly recommend you only attend if absolutely necessary. The Annual Parish Meeting will be opened by the Chairman and immediately adjourned until 23rd June, 2021. The only legal requirement of the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council is the election of the Chairman, therefore we only have this and 2 other important items that will be discussed.
We have sought legal advice from the Association of Local Councils and are ensuring we act within the law from a covid and local council perspective.
We apologise for any confusion or inconvenience but the safety of our residents, councillors and staff is of utmost importance.
Please see our Meetings Calendar for the agendas and more info.
